Katherine and Chef Martín's journey to creating Mi Tierra Mexican Kitchen is a tale of passion, heritage, and a shared dream. Both grew up in the vibrant, bustling world of restaurants, where the aromas of sizzling dishes and the rhythm of a busy kitchen were as familiar as family.

Katherine, born and raised in El Salvador, spent her childhood in her family's restaurant, absorbing the essence of hospitality and the importance of high-quality ingredients. She watched her parents greet each customer with a warm smile and learned that great service is the heart of any dining experience.

Chef Martín, on the other hand, hailed from the heart Houston, Texas. Growing up, he was surrounded by the rich tapestry of BBQ, with its bold flavors and diverse ingredients. From an early age, he was captivated by the culinary arts, spending countless hours in his family’s kitchen & working in many popular Houston area restaurants he mastered traditional recipes as well as upscale cooking skills.

Fate brought Katherine and Martín together at a culinary event in Houston. Their shared love for the restaurant industry and a mutual respect for each other's backgrounds sparked an instant connection. They realized they both dreamed of creating a dining experience that combined the best of their worlds: the welcoming hospitality Katherine grew up with and the dynamic flavors of Martín's fine dining background.

Together, they envisioned Mi Tierra Mexican Kitchen, a modern Mexican restaurant dedicated to high quality, great service, and expertly crafted cocktails. Their cuisine is a love letter to Mexico City, inspired by its versatility and vibrant flavors.
